Roxane Bay, Bolton Ontario Member Since September 2007 Artist Statement Roxane Bay inherited her love of photography from her mother Madeleine who once had a thriving photo studio in St-Georges-de-Beauce, Québec. Her entertainment as a young girl was sifting through the myriad of photos that her mother accumulated over the years.
As she grew up and had children of her own, she spent time photographing and detailing her own children's lives.
Roxane took various art courses while living in Quebec. She mastered numerous folk crafts which she learned from elders in rural Québec, just to name a few...quilting...weaving...knitting.
She moved back to Toronto in the 80's and enrolled in a photography course at George Brown College.
Roxane took adult education classes, graduated from Centennial College in Architecture and AutoCad to acquire her Architectural Drafting diploma.
She is presently taking a certificate course at Humber College in Toronto in Photographic Techniques. She has studied with Johan Sorensen & Greg Danbrooke at Humber College.
She work full time at Canada Post Corporation and feeds her photography habit by working at Black's Photography part time.
