DescriptionThis piece was made with an acrylic abstract painting, or two, a photo of an Alaskan Wild Geranium, and some additional colors and tweaking. You will also find this one in my affirmations gallery with 'As I focus on self-nurturing I lose all interest in trying to control others' on it. Of course I tried to control another person and my dog while working on this one : ) but that's why it's in my affirmations gallery, it's something I could stand to do better. My own business refers to personal joy : )
Ruth King, Chugiak, Alaska Member Since December 2012 Artist Statement Creating art is a joy for me - so much fun : ) As far as I can tell, life is for learning and for fun (making art and teasing Terry).
I live in Chugiak, Alaska with my goofball boyfriend, Terry. We take a lot of photo walks and hikes. He is fairly patient where my photographic putzing is concerned. My daughter is more inclined to take my camera from me and run with it, so that I have to chase her to get it back, thereby moving up the trail faster. I told her, a candy bar might work better. Her plan is the same for mosquitoes as for bears - move faster than me. My plan is to let her carry the pack, thereby slowing her down just a bit : )
I work in Anchorage in Mental Health. I work nights and rarely see daylight on our short winter days. Art fills my need for color in winter : )
I am a student of Abraham Hicks. I searched for what they have to offer pretty much my whole life. I don't manage to suppress the urge to get preachy very well, hence my affirmations gallery : )
