Every calling is great when greatly pursued. ~ Oliver Wendell Holmes ~
Even now, I do not believe we can ignore the dignity of labor.
Digital oil portrait from an original photograph shot in August 2009. Painted to honor my father, who labored in hellish hot foundries all of his life fashioning the metal foundations that support our bridges and buildings and making the machine parts that made possible what used to be one of our greatest industries, manufacturing. If he were alive today, he would not have a job.
