Description In earlier days, when vegetables had to be peeled by hand, this apple peeler was considered a labor saving device. This image of an old fashioned kitchen with its mixing bowls, red checkered tablecloth, apples and apple peeler would per perfect for anyone's kitchen.
Susan Savad, New Jersey Member Since November 2008 Artist Statement I first started painting when my husband went into the army and we went to Texas. Having nothing to do, I went to the craft building on base and was shown how to paint in acrylic.
After returning to New Jersey to live, I started taking adult education painting classes while raising my two sons. When my younger son started nursery school, I was able to enroll part-time at DuCret School of the Arts. Although it took me 7 years to complete a 3 year program where I took both textile design and fine art classes, I did finally graduate in 1989.
Since graduation, I have continued to work on my paintings. I am in the process of adding these paintings to Imagekind. In the meantime, additional paintings can be seen at http://www.susansavad.com.
In addition to working on my fine art, I also make flower designs which can be bought on t-shirts and other gifts. The website for my flower designs is http://www.designsbysusan.com.
