Description In the height of the Great Depression, it sure was audacious to arrive at the party in an Auburn, let alone an Auburn Speedster. This 1934 Auburn 12 was the cat's meow, a car that just might deliver the Great Gatsby to a cottage in Newport, if he wasn't driving one of the company's other masterpieces, a Deusenberg or a Cord.
Gordon Summer, San Diego Member Since August 2008 Artist Statement I'm really an ad guy . . . more of a marketing type. But I love cars. Used to collect 'em. But made the decision to go urban 15 years ago, and a high-rise in a city ain't no place to keep a car collection. So they're gone. I like to say I've bought and sold maybe $3 or $4 million worth of great cars over the years . . . for a grand total of $116,000.
Anyway, now I take photos of classics, sports, exotics, muscle cars, and misc. special interest autos, manipulate 'em digitally, and do giclee prints. They take up so much less space, and don't drip anything on the floor!
