DescriptionThe fall sun was low in the sky casting long shadows. On this warm afternoon it illuminated the grasses with a brilliant orange glow. A woman sat down to read her book after I began to paint. We never spoke and she left before I finished the painting.
Roger White, New York City Member Since February 2007 Artist Statement Roger White grew up in south Florida where the light bathed everything in tropical color. Working quickly, and often on the beach, his brushstrokes capture light and shadow to canvas.
He refined his skills in New York at Parsons the New School for Design and the Art Students League. Riverside Park on the Hudson River has become a favorite subject with it's changing light and water views.
His creative eye has designed television motion graphics for NBC and David Letterman. He designed Dave's Late Show logo. Roger teaches at New York University's Center for Advanced Digital Applications.
