DescriptionThe image here is part of my first exploratory series using this style on computer. I created this image in photoshop using many layers. All of my explorations in my shop basically use this type of approach. These improv's are intended for specific retail applications such as wallpaper in addition to framed prints.I liked this effect since high school. Back then I used pin-registered ortho films, color filters and Cibrachrome color paper to accomplish this effect. After that I was exposed to silk screen and graphic design and artists such as Andy Warhol. That is basically my story.
Steve Herman, New York Member Since September 2007 Artist Statement
Steve Lewis Herman was born in Washington DC and grew up in Potomac, MD. Over the years, he was exposed to many forms of art and was influenced by his Aunt and Grandmother, both of whom were artists. He began his art career at 3 years old using mixed media (apple sauce, olive juice, crayons and finger nail polish) on freshly painted dry wall. Steve also loved taking things apart and reassembling them in interesting, non-functional ways, much like his father. He loved music and learned guitar and to this day, he is a natural dancer and loves rhythm. Later in life, Mr. Herman quickly adapted to the new computer technology and he now lives in New York City where he enjoys his Vespa, Zootr scooter and anything else that has wheels.
