Cecilia Klinkenbergh, Berlin - Germany Member Since March 2010 Artist Statement I discovered my interest for shapes and colors at a very young age.
However, that didn’t gain the awareness of my parents until the day I decided to paint all the bath towels in the house and leave them line-dry, outside in the courtyard.
After that incident, I was granted the opportunity to join the art school in my home town, where I was able to take the first steps on the rich grounds of creativity.
During many years of intensive traveling around the world, self discipline and autodidactic learning brought me further in the improvement of my painting skills.
Later on, under the guidance of Katye de Barros, a renowned Brazilian artist, I was able to broaden the use of pictorial language to exceed the limits of conventional reality and discover the new landscapes of abstract art.
In a spiritual dimension abstractionism translates the perceptions of the metaphysical mind and my belief in other realms of existence, that goes far beyond the material world.
