Description This was inspired by vintage Pulp Fiction covers. They are just so cool! I used Painter IX watercolors. I have many more on the way and on my site. Let me know if you would like to see any of them here. www.agencygirls.com
Nicky Lin, California Member Since February 2007 Artist Statement Due to a Hard Drive crash I've lost all my digital files. What you see here is all there is. Boohoo! Now that I've started creating new stuff, I have to decide what to get rid of FOREVER! Any thoughts as to what I should keep for sure?
And for those of you new to this Gallery, a little about me: Once I found Painter I became hooked on digital art. Before that I was struggling with Photoshop and a mouse. A Wacom tablet and Painter are now my best friends!
I like the feel of the watercolor, which I use in a most untraditional way, backwards. It's the same when I use actual paint. I paint as if it were oil, or acrylics, dark to light.
The city inspires me, and the female form inspires me. These are the things I paint most, and the things that occupy my creative mind most of the time. I also love Photography, but alas I'm not that good at it.
As a child my mom took me on a lot of road trips through California, Arizona, New Mexico and Utah. There was a lot of nothing to see, but being a child of divorce, this time with my mom gave me a sense of hope and peacefulness. So when I see abandoned places those are the feelings they invoke. Next to my girls and the city at night, those lonely places are another of my favorite subjects.
