Description A view of the estuary at Old Woman Creek Reserve located in Huron Ohio. Where the waters of Lake Erie meet and mix with the creek. This forms a chemically different type of water. This is also the only Great Lakes-type freshwater estuary in the National Estuarine Research reserve system.The estuary is home to many different types of mammals, reptiles, fish, amphibians, insects and is home to The American Bald Eagle. The estuary is also used as a field laboratory for scientists and students to study this unique natural setting. This particular location is a part of a naturally occurring barrier sand beach.
