Description Located in Chalmette, Louisiana, this historical home is on the grounds of the Battle of New Orleans. The Beauregard House was built on this site after the war in 1832. This antebellum home was originally named for Rene Beauregard, the son of General P.G.T. Beauregard.
Elaine Hodges, Violet, LA Member Since June 2009 Artist Statement I am a self-taught artist, and love painting and creating just about anything. Most of my subjects are from everyday life, and living near New Orleans, I enjoy the depicting the flavor and culture of the area. I have sold my items in gift shops and art and craft stores over the years, and also online, including my website, www.creativemoods.com. I have also enjoyed designing patterns for magazines. I have finally gotten back to painting, having to start from scratch since Hurricane Katrina devastated our home town in St.Bernard Parish. It feels good to be creating again.
