Rebecca Shadrick, Piedmont, North Carolina
Member Since July 2007
Artist Statement This American artist owes her lineage to a diverse mix of ancestors. With Connections to Roger Williams, Jefferson Davis, and Native American Armina Tharp. The latter, while not as famous as the afore mentioned, inspires much of her work today. Harrowing accounts of Arminie, having killed a panther with a pine knot, created a desire to pay homage to the strength of women, and the first people of the Americas.

A member of the North Carolina Arts Council, and former member of the Artist Guild of Statesville, Inc. Shadricks’ work has been featured in the Statesville Record & Landmark, Art On The Green, Signal Hill Gallery, and numerous Native American events.

Based in the foothills of North Carolina, Shadrick uses bold colors, sharp contrast, and a deep spiritual connection in her landscapes and symbolic art work. Wildlife and natures secrets feature prominently in her paintings.
