DescriptionStreet scene in downtown Houston, the place of my birth. This location is just a couple of blocks away from the site of my birth. Restaurants come and go in Houston and I hope this one is still alive now that I've finished the painting. This is Congress at Main, just down the street from the Red Cat Jazz Cafe.
Melinda Patrick, Magnolia, Texas Member Since August 2008 Artist Statement My paintings are intended to be eye candy. They are meant to grab the eye and entertain it with color and form and geometry. I’m drawn to imagery of my native Houston, Texas and my paintings are usually a snapshot of what I see around me.
I have a BFA from the College of the San Francisco Art Institute and have been working as a graphic artist/designer for over 30 years.
