DescriptionAlthough the California Poppy is our official State Flower, it doesn't bloom for us every year. This delicate bloom is rather tempermental and needs the perfect conditions to make it's appearance. Fortunately, this past winter brought near-record setting rains to the Southern California area, and this spring, the desert was carpeted with a kalaidoscope of colorful wildflowers! These majestic volcanic rock formations at Joshua Tree National Park have endured for millions of years...a striking contrast with the fragile and short-lived poppies.
