Artist Statement I am a fourth generation artist. All the women on my mother's side back to my great-grandmother were artists and my children and grandchildren are also artistically talented. I have been drawing and painting since I was a child. I work in all mediums but prefer acrylics and pastels. I do artist-in-residencies, portraits, murals, and art shows. My work can best be noted for my use of bright colors and deep contrast. I began as a portrait artist but the subject matter is not what is important, I choose my subject by its impact on me. I am active in two art guilds. I also love photography, and enjoy looking for material for my paintings.
