Artist Statement Welcome!

My name is Lori D. Talo and my passion for photography started when I was six on a trip with my folks to Mackinac Island, MI. I had taken the entire family trip photos with a little pink 110 camera. I am new to IMAGEKIND so there are just a handful of my photos to view here but you may view more of my shots on my Flickr site listed here on IMAGEKIND.

My main focus has always seemed to be on composition and light since I was young. I enjoy shooting natural settings the most. The rows in a field, a railroad track extending miles in front of my lense, tunnels of a dirt road through the "kissing" trees, all have been my faves.

Just recently, I worked relocated out of Michigan temporarily, to the deep South of Alabama for work. Wherever I go, my camera must be with me because I constantly spot a picture that I want to share with the world. I am very familiar with Adobe's Photoshop and love to play with my photos, but on here, what you see is basically the raw shot.

If you were to Google my name, you will find that I was the first freelance photographer to take photos at the announcement of Gerald R. Ford's passing. It was very cold in Michigan that morning, 42 F at 1:30 am on Dec.27th 2007. I emailed my shots to CNN at 4 am or so and was featured all day on Headline News through the i-Report link on their website. It was a very exciting, yet moving time for me to capture the essence of such a great man's life from the childhood home we both shared.

So world, much peace as you enjoy my passion.
