Description This particular poppy painting is called blushing poppies because I took the colour of the poppies and mixed it with the colour in the sky until they blended, thus making the blooms look like they were blushing, or giving off their essence to the wind. I love to show a representation of energy, especially around flowers. Sometimes if you are really still and look really closely at flowers, you can see their energy vibrating. Wonderful.

My name is Suzanne and I’m a self-taught artist working in acrylics.
Painting is something I wanted to do for a long time before I started doing it, born out of a desire to play with colour. For years I found myself falling in love with colours, one after the other, needing to surround myself with objects in those colours. But it wasn’t until I moved west and settled in the mountains that my desire came to fruition.
Now I paint every day, inspired by my surroundings. I love the whimsical nature of trees and flowers and tend to put most of my energy there, translating what I see into terms of light and shadow, energy and movement.
