Artist Statement Karin Nemri has been painting with watercolors since 1994. She is inspired by the spirit of those living in third world counties because despite the challenges of poverty , lack of material possessions and education, natural disasters or hash climates, their inner spirit lights them and is evidenced through their music, art, folklore, and their gratitude, respect and compassion for one another. She has come to understand that ones potential rides on the joy and light from within.

Karin’s work is known for its vibrant colors and her ability to capture the soul of her subjects. Always working from photographs, she finds that the watercolors react in her hands like clay as her brush sculpts life onto the canvas.

Even though Karin has had no formal art training, her paintings have earned numerous awards and have been exhibited throughout Connecticut. She resides in Bloomfield.
