Susan Van Sant, Grand Rapids Member Since July 2011 Artist Statement Susan Van Sant is a self-representing artist who has been creating and selling her artwork across the globe since 2007. Each painting has been carefully rendered on either stretched canvas or wood panel using a glazing technique with many layers which results in an almost dimensional quality with gorgeous depth of color. Inspired by the early masters technique and limited color palette, Susan strives to bring this timeless energy into her work. She is captivated by beauty in sadness, and many of her pieces contain a mysterious brooding quality.
