Artist Statement All my life I've enjoyed watching nature and listening to the everday sounds of rain or rushing water, birds singing, and rustling leaves in the wind. I tried hard to paint pictures of landscapes the best I could, until I got my first camera. What a romanticist! Film used to be too expensive for me and most times, my pictures weren't the best. I couldn't see wasting film, yet, I learned a lot from my mistakes. Now I find I can "paint" landscapes a lot faster through photography... but I still have much to learn! As a California native I miss being close to the ocean, so I head for the lakes in the mountains. I am a retired widow living in the hot, sunny southern New Mexico desert where the scenes are peaceful... especially at sunset. I love to travel mostly by scenic road trips and camping. I've just recently become a devoted "shutterbug". Most of my photographs are of scenic locations throughout my travels. I love the sea, waterfalls, forests, and mountains..... and now I am enjoying the peaceful desert. If you're ever in Ruidoso, New Mexico..... stop by at "My Sister's Attic" on Sudderth Dr. and view my photography available for sale there, as well as my native Indian southwest jewelry and other arts/crafts.
