Description Cathedral Lions is one example of the symbolism used by artist Paul LaWrence Curtis to express his vision of the balance of divine masculine and feminine energies. Here a male and female lion sit restfully beneath Cathedral Rock, a red rock formation in the artist's home of Sedona that represents that balance and is a site of the powerful vortex energies for which Sedona is known.Exuding power and grace, the lions bring an energy of serenity and balance to the space in which they reside. This painting is part of the series of works which have lions as the subject matter. This series was inspired by an African safari taken by the artist during which the lions revealed themselves to be the artist's totem animal spirit.Original is a 33 x 24 acrylic on canvas.
