Description Child Bride of the Sahara by the late Avonelle Kelsey (1931-2009) is a 36'x24' acrylic on canvas board, signed and dated. Inspired by a photo in National Geographic, Avonelle channeled her outrage about child brides into this work, a matching doll sculpture and her writings. An original poem by Avonelle, Child Bride of the Sahara, still remains taped to the back of the painting. A close up print of this image is also available.

I am the daughter of artist Avonelle Kelsey (1931-2009).
Most sales go towards paying my massive art storage bills back home and helping Mom's legacy of creativity live on while I decide what best to do with the last of the artwork I rescued from her gallery before it was 'cleaned out'.
