Description The original is an Adobe Illustrator digital 'vector' drawing I drew of a friend when she came to visit in my apartment above the Pub in Madison, Wisconsin from a photo I took. I lived above the Pub for about 4 and one half years, right there on State Street. What a blast! Along with the 'preordained' sizes available through ImageKind, the original digital file is also for sale, and depending on your capabilities of printing, can be increased to any output size you desire with no loss of quality whatsoever. With vector art, resolution is simply not an issue. ...Imagine, you can even crop any piece of this, any way you like, and print it out at any size -- even to take up an entire wall. When you zoom up closely you'll discover it appears to look like hundreds and hundreds, sometimes thousands, of 'paths' I drew that seemingly have no correlation...until you walk back or zoom out.
Jeff Alexander Member Since February 2013 Artist Statement I've chosen to begin displaying some of my art I've created over the years, in which most all are drawn from photographs using Adobe Illustrator. What's unique about using a vector-based program, is that the output can increase to any size one desires, without losing any quality whatsoever, as it's not based on pixels. Imagine instead of purchasing the assigned formatted prints here at ImageKind -- which will look awesome at their preordained size! -- you purchase the original digital file and have the capability to print it out at any size you desire (and heck, then why not recompose it too if you like, any way you choose, any section you choose) ...Imagine one of these artworks or any part of them you choose taking up an entire wall, with no loss of resolution whatsoever. It is the type of art that from a distance may often look realistic, but when you get up very close, you'll discover it's all seemingly abstract 'paths,' various colored 'chunks' I drew, sometimes in the thousands, using the pen tool. Go ahead and zoom in as close as you can on any of my artworks, and you'll find it's all just colored 'paths' layered on top of one another. An eye, for instance, looks nothing like an eye at 1000-percent. I will be uploading artwork on the average of one every two days or so for the next month.
