DescriptionOut of variously intersecting aspects of life flows a river of inspiration, if you know where to look for it. No situation is without redemption, and no challenge is without its rewards, provided we stick with it long enough to reap those rewards. This piece was created at a time when life was very much in flux for me. Things seemed like a three-ring circus to me, then, but the ultimate pattern of events would eventually reveal a larger plan behind it all... My job was not to figure out what that plan was, but to play my part to the best of my ability, pay close attention to every detail, and glean what I could from the whole of the experience, to use in future life choices.
Kay Stoner, Boston Member Since August 2007 Artist Statement I am a mixed media artist, writer, and poet who works with sacred geometries and colors to chronicle and archive the energetic experiences of myself and the collective consciousness.
I have been working with fractal images since the late 1990s, and I continue to be amazed by their intricacy and transitory nature. It is my honor and privilege to "midwife" them into being... the real magic happens in a space that no one can consciously approach... what remains for me -- for us all, really -- is to remain open and attendant and to do the best we can with the tools we've been given.
I have published numerous books of poetry and prose, and I have been working in mixed media for over 20 years. I am an avid student of mythology and symbolism, and I find the archetypes and abstractions of alchemy to be highly useful in creating my art, as well as the life I live. I have been employed in the legal field, high-tech, and financial services, and I bring to my art the intention of supporting and strengthening excellence in all activities, through the deliberate use of color, shape, geometries, and proportion.
