Description As I was painting the last work, I couldn’t help but think of the contrast this painting represents. A church is not a building, a church is a congregation of Christians. A church unifies individuals and creates a maturing environment for its members. Human towers like this actually exist in Spain and are great physical feats of teamwork, preparation, and cooperation. Each member has a purpose in the tower. The humans are meant to visually represent a church building’s steeple. The “clouds” in the background are essentially a method members of the Spanish towers implement a strong base for the tower. The specific way they hold hands enables the tower to reach a higher altitude. Who’s lifting you up? Who are you helping to lift up?Original Painting is acrylic on 24” X 48” stretched canvas.
