DescriptionTihis painting kind of represents my place in the art world. The rounds marks representing various pieces I have sold. Dismay with my art career and the confusion and anxieties trying to get out there in the world. The world is a giant place and at every turn there are people there to use you or to help you.
Michael Rumage Jr., Saint Petersburg, Florida Member Since August 2007 Artist Statement With a love for art, Michael has transformed the last 35 years of his life into acrylic paint. He did not always picture himself as an artist nor dream to be an artist, but over the years it is something that has become a part of him and his life. His paintings are an outward reflection of his opinions, thoughts and feelings. His peices are an inside picture to what is sometimes the mess of his mind and his innermost fears spewed out for the world to see, to judge, to hate, to love. Art is something that we feel, that we see, that we touch, that we long for, and cannot live without. It is something that is a a part of us.
Michael's art is not always thought out, planned or intentional, but his version of "plain fun". Something that he thinks is important in everyones life. Sometimes you have to let loose a little and do what makes you happy no matter what others judgments may be.
If Michael does not have anything now that you particularly like, please check back often to see what kinds of "plain fun" he has come up with!
