Description This image is another long-time favorite of mine. 'Country Bridge' was taken at Cumberland Mountain State Park near Crossville, Tennessee. I happened upon the bridge at the end of a cool, rainy weekend, and I couldn't believe how calm and smooth the water was.I processed the image to give a sepia tint to the center of the photo and bleeding to a black and white at the edges. To enhance the look, I like to frame the photo with a brown frame, sometimes even rustic or distressed wood, with a double porcelain and brown mat.
Linda Curty, Winchester, Tennessee Member Since October 2008 Artist Statement I'm a photographer. Photos have been part of my life for as long as I can remember. - My grandparents were photographers. My dad is rarely without his camera. My uncle always says, "If you can't see the camera ... the camera can't see you!"
I started honing my love and learning the science of photography in my college photojournalism class. The science - I think that's one of the things that draws me to photography - by applying the rules, the rule of thirds, the golden mean, proper lighting, and more - you can capture and even amplify the beauty around you.
Photography gives me a way to create art and beauty in a way that my hands - through drawing, painting, or sculpting - never could.
For many years I made portraits and captured weddings. Now I prefer to focus on my travel and landscape art and create tools to help other portrait photographers.
