JOHN CHAO, Bellevue Member Since November 2009 Artist Statement John is a nature, travel and environmental photographer living in the Seattle, Washington area. His work has been awarded recognition in juried exhibitions, published in several books including "Best of the Northwest", magazines including Audubon, Outdoor Photographer, National Geographic publications, notecards, calendars, local newspapers, and included in collections at Mount Rainier, North Cascades and Olympic National Parks. He is a volunteer photographer for the National Park Service's Office of Communications, and has been an Advisory Board Member for the Photography Program at Bellevue College, Bellevue, WA.
Interests include National Parks, Pacific Northwest and Western regions, mountain aerials, travel scenics, winter views and photojournalism for nature-related causes.

John has conducted photography workshops for Mount Rainier National Park, offers photography field trips and organizes nature photography exhibitions. He co-organized & showed work in "The National Parks in Washington State" Exhibition in 10/2010 to 1/2011 at Washington State Convention Center, Seattle, WA.
