Artist Statement After many years as a writer, mainly of children's books in my real name of Ken Ross, a change of direction finds me as a rather unusual artist i.e.
Horace Cornflake. An interesting adventure! Born in East Yorkshire, England, I spent my first quarter century trying to write poetry in the Shelley style - times have changed! Next came twenty five years wading through, and swimming in the vast pond of literature. Yes, there were what others may regard as successes and achievements, but I am one of those people who is more interested in where tomorrow may take me. It is challenging to attempt what you presently are unable to do rather than to repeat what you have already done. I arrive in the art world niaive in experience but rich with ideas of that which may be created. Purists will notice a lack of technique and mastery in the hand of creation but hopefully the bright light which shines in my mind will dim the shadows. I hope you find humour, points, of contemplation , or even something stirring in my work. Thanks for coming through the door.
