Description Here is a Cuzco mother in her traditional Andean dress with her baby and a lamb. She is carrying her baby in a K'eperina and wearing a Monteras, which is worn by Andean women and may be designed according to the village they come from. They are delicately woven and adorned with sanq'apa straps of white beads. Her skirt is called a polleras that is made of hand-woven wool called bayeta.
Andrea Brunson, Seattle Member Since October 2008 Artist Statement For many years I have dabbled in photography using my 35mm Minolta SLR camera. However, I have started taking digital photos and love my immediate results. Currently I purchased a Sony Digital SLR A200 camera. I was able to use it while I was in Peru this September 2008. I took some amazing photos of Machu Picchu and Peruvian locals. I posted them here on Imagekind and will also post on my website: www.andreabrunson.com
