Description I took this photo in Mesa Arizona off of Elliot and Hawes Road (Southeast corner) on Saturday 2-13-2010, at 1754 hours with a Nikon D-700 D-SLR, 12mp, 200-400mm F4 Nikkor Lens zoomed to 400mm at F4. This Falcon was sitting on a branch when another Falcon came in to land. I was already set on the one bird so I just held down my shutter button set at 14 Bit RAW, 1/400 sec, F4, ISO 320 at 4650 Degrees Kelvin. This shot ended up being one of a series which I liked because the warming sunlight hitting the birds as this was sunset time. I increased the EV to +0.30 in RAW. Opened the pic in CS3, levels adjustment to 19/1.00/255 (made a controlled layer and brushed/erased this levels adjustment off the birds bodies except the faces). I made a Curves adjustment to (output 130 / input 141) made a controlled layer and did the same as the levels with the brush tool to keep down the brownish, yellowish look on the birds). I dodged a little of the birds white feathers in a layer, NO Saturation adjustment, Highpass to 1.2, and saved the entire photo in layers.
