Description An amazing flower. It stands about 3 feet tall on a stalk that seems far too slender to hold the flower up. The flower is called a Dinner Plate Dahlia because the flower head itself gets as big as dinner plate. The only way it can possibly do so is with the lightest possible petals. Truly beautiful. Only 500 prints available.
Two Star Photography, Northwest Member Since September 2009 Artist Statement Nothing is more satisfying in art than to see the image in your mind reproduced as closely as possible in the artist's choice of medium. Not an easy thing to accomplish, but one to be proud of, and doubly so when others view the work and see the same thing.
As for my newest art endeavor, in early February of 2015 my mom completed her journey on earth. During her life she was very passionate about art, having worked with some greats such as Bob Ross and Bill Alexander, among others. I have always shared her passion for art but never thought I had any of her talent.
When she died, mom left me all of her art supplies, and after a few weeks of looking at the boxes on the floor of my study I decided it was time to put some serious effort into learning how to paint. Part of me wishes mom was still here to teach me, but I do know she is smiling down as she watches my progress. You can watch it too as I upload new work here and on my other site where you can buy originals (http://www.artpal.com/2StarArt).
