The river is beautiful to look at, and has been witness to a lot of human life.Consider the Keowee Ihdians, the only American Native Tribe knowm to have facial hair. It has been suggested that the tribe might be related to colonists from the Lost Colony.Consider the march of Lord Cornwallis during the war for Independence. He troops moved right by the place this photo was made.Consider Naomi Wise, who drowned just around that bend in the river, her life and death was immortalized in story, and song.Yes Deep River is a historic river.
Gary Strader, Greensboro Member Since November 2007 Artist Statement My Flickr Screen name is Nomad Solos, to define, it as "One Alone, who wanders, and has no home."
The name has romantic implications for me, for someone that loved that I have known since childhood. That someone is a rolling stone, and up till recently wandered alone. In Addition the name was a name that I chose to pull of a great gag on an old friend of mine, that passed away in the 1990s. At any rate, the name has stuck with me, and represents many things in my life that happen to be dear to my heart.
At one time in my life I played drums professionally, in several bands in the Southeastern United States. The need to be creative still exists, and for me photography fulfills that need. It is my hope that you will choose one of my selections because it speaks to your heart, and if it does then we have connected you and I on a spiritual level.
