Description Dolphin's Sunrise Serti technique on silk.
While living in Belize, I was around wild dolphins often; they filtered into my dreams and into my work. Several of my paintings and drawings during that time were created after one beautiful and magical evening of swimming with dolphins at play in a bioluminescent bay. A moment of awe, when life itself was more surreal than my artwork can ever convey.
This silk painting seems to glow as if it is lit from beneath. That’s the way that warm night felt.
Hand painted in a Serti technique on silk. 26' x 21'.

Currently, I'm sculpting silver jewelry, inspired by the Rainforest and Reef, and loving playing with fire!
I paint, draw, sculpt. It's a requirement: like breathing. I’ve been following the equator these last 20 years, admittedly with a bit of a wobble, finding my imagination strongest between the 16 degrees north and the 16 degrees south mark.
Rainforest to reef. Beautiful and endangered tropical flora and fauna are my inspiration, but my finished painting come from something larger than I can create in the daylight hours. They arrive in dreams, complete, and usually with a story. Sometimes I believe it’s the equatorial pull, a tropical twist that draws the glass thread of creativity from my soul. But at other times I’m certain it’s a magic spell casts by the wildlife. Or the Gods of the ancient cultures whispering in my ear – paint this, see this, dream this. I don’t always understand the source, but I know it is my job to recreate what I’ve been given in my dream.
The Gallery pages show a bit of the work I’ve created while living in Honduras, Belize, Australia, Thailand, Egypt, and now the BVI. And ink drawings I’ve created while passing through, passing time, waiting on trains, planes, ferries, tuk tuks, and a camel. Nothing formal, but if you like, there’s more to see and read about my work and inspiration behind my paintings, at www.savannaredman.com.
Thank you for viewing my work,
