Artist Statement I regard myself as an "anti-photographer" because I am most intrigued
by the images I've produced from digital photographs that are the least
"photographic," that is, those images where a lack of light or a focus
problem has resulted in a loss of information and an image that is more
abstract or surreal. I also experiment with computer manipulation of light
and color in the original digital image. Some of my images are very
effective in poster sizes. I like to take portrait photographs of subjects
who are concentrating on something other than being photographed
in order to produce more natural poses and facial expressions.
My subjects also include old buildings, classic vehicles and combinations
of several types of subjects.
