Description A girl in the bottom of an imaginary ocean, becoming one with this environment. A sea turtle, a fish and algues are encrusted into her body. The two horses on bottom right symbolize the mariage of phantasy and reality.Following poem goes with the artwork:I'm dazzled by the nudity of your soul set free a boundless ocean for me to glide and gleam like a silverfish You set me moving again I'm becoming iridescent golden hues, silver hues my eyes can't rest in your ocean but wherever i swim, i'm lost wherever i dive, i drown so deep and dark it is (Text by Ina Mar)
Ina Mar, Munich, Germany Member Since June 2007 Artist Statement In 2001 I created my first experimental series called "Lightcurves", where I transformed the body into landscape through lighting effects and accessory objects. Since 2001, I have been exploring the notion of metamorphosis and hybridism, mixing media and transforming the representational into abstract, through lighting effects, shooting techniques (such as "traveling" of the camera) or photomanipulation.
My more recent works explore surrealism and the irrationality of dreams and emotions, using a mixed technique: photo, photomanipulation, pencil or ink drawing on paper, paper collage, digital painting... I don't use stock images - my material is "home made": I use my own digital photographs, vintage objects, drawings and textures, collected through years of travels. Most of the fonts are "home made" too - handwritten or "recomposed" using fragments of old letters and notes.
Favourite subjects: the human body, the human mind and the natural environment.
