Jennifer Bunge, Colorado Member Since April 2008 Artist Statement Thank you for visiting my imagekind gallery.
I paint in a variety of styles and use a bunch of different media. I have been inspired by the rural Canadian prairies of my childhood and the suburban cityscape of my youth. I have always lived inland but I am especially inspired by the mystery of the sea. I also create many watercolors that could be called “fanciful.” I believe that art can entertain, provoke and inspire. Recently I have become interested in experimenting with the integration of spiritual expression as a theme in my artwork. My faith has always been the center of my life, and I would like to continue to discover new ways to draw that out in my paintings.
I have been inspired by bold and dramatic artists from the past and present. I have been influenced by the comic book artist Hergé and the cleverly simple German Expressionist Karl Schmidt-Rottluff. I am proud to have studied under the underground comics pioneer Frank Stack and the nationally known printmaker Tom Huck while attending the University of Missouri.
Here on my Imagekind pages I have quality prints available to order in different sizes on a variety of papers, and even cards are available here. You may keep up with my creative process and upcoming works by visiting my blog (above). Thanks for stopping by.
