Description A contemporary triptych in fiery colours showing a small group of African Elephants marching across the Savannah against a sizzling African sunset. Originally painted in Acrylic with oil glazes and built up in rich layers to produce a multi-hued, multi-textural landscape painting.
Shirley Shelton, Norwich Member Since February 2011 Artist Statement Hi, I’m Shirley and I live and work in the picturesque rural county of Norfolk, England. I love my painting and photography. Here I hope you will find and enjoy many examples of my work.
Over the years I have developed several different styles. I like using both figurative and abstract techniques depending on the kind of mood or atmosphere I am trying to create. (Also depending on the kind of mood I happen to be in!) I adore colour and frequently draw my inspiration from Asian and African designs and cultures, often using a variety of media to create both texture and effect.
In my photography I like to explore the world around me as well as the infinite possibilities of digital editing. At present most of my efforts are divided between exhibiting locally, selling my paintings on my online site, maintaining my art blog and juggling my time between easel, camera,VDU and my lovely husband. Well, a girls got to keep busy!
