Artist Statement Artist Printmaker for many years using digital printing since 2000. While much of the work in the past was derived from the landscape around me, more recent work has moved into figurative imagery and gradually into ever more complex abstract forms, using many layers that partially erase the previous ones, but leave traces of their own 'history'. The result is a form of palimpsest - where the content of one document is scraped away to be reused but leaves traces behind of what went before. They may at first appear regular, kaleidoscopic patterns but on closer inspection nothing really repeats and every detail varies allowing the eye and mind to wander endlessly.
