DescriptionPart four of a series of four depicting the same scene in each season. Pen and ink drawing with digital textures and color.Fall, like Spring is way to short lived around here, but I make the most of it while it lasts. It's a magical time for me because Halloween is just around the corner and then Thanksgiving, my two favorite holidays! Mass quantities of food and candy, dressing up and looking completely ridiculous in public and no one bats an eye, whats not to love? Your kids jumping in that pile of leaves you just worked so hard to rake up. Then handing them the rake to redo it all and teaching them important life skills at the same time. All the beautiful fall color, apple everything, and the peace and quiet for all the parents when their children return to school. Oh beautiful Fall!
Shawna Rowe Member Since July 2012 Artist Statement I grew up in a creative family who loved photography, music, art and random hiking adventures. That helped me to develop a love for nature and artistic expression early on. I've never limited myself to one particular medium but I do favor graphic shapes, bold colors and whimsical style. Whatever the medium, I try to include some or all of those elements in my work.
My family has always been a big inspiration and they feature in a series of satirical cartoons that I've done just for fun over the years. Each year I make a new cartoon to celebrate each of my daughter's birthdays. I've also made my own greeting cards for family members over the years.
Lately, I've been making detailed magazine collages. Each one is made of 100% recycled paper cut into tiny shapes and carefully applied much like paint onto canvas. It's an art-form that requires a lot of time and patience but I love this unusual way of creating. Thank you for visiting my gallery!
