At the tender age of 43, I haven't seen everything, but I've had the opportunity to see quite a bit. I put as much of myself into my art as possible and the experiences I've had feed my creativity and outlook that is represented in my work
I have been fascinated and in love with photography for over 20 years. Even as a child I remember watching Polaroid images appearing like magic and wanting to create my own. To capture split second in time, a moment in someones life, is paramount to the ability to conquer time and leave a timeless impression on the world, no matter how small.
Where my photography leads me, I may never know, but getting there is the biggest adventure of all.
Michael Mars is a husband and father of 5 (all boys) living in Lawton, Oklahoma. Currently in the Army and also having spent four years in the Navy Michael uses his own perspective to create images that stand the test of time. He started his journey with 35mm film doing his own development and printing and has journeyed onwards to the digital age. While he works in both color and B&W his love remains in the realm of varying shades of gray. According to Michael color photography has its place, but there is no denying the fact that B&W has a soul of its own...
