Description Fifi was a little dove, fourteen years of age, forced into ballet by her step-mother, a street walking harlot-of-a-pigeon who always craved respect from the more privileged classes. Despite a budget that was primarily consumed with bourbon and cigarettes, Fifi’s mother managed to save a few seeds every month to pay for her ballet lessons on the Rue le Peletier, in the desperate hope she would become famous or meet a wealthy bird. Her dreams of a lavish retirement filled with reconstructive plumage jobs, cocktail parties, and a perched ocean nest on the Riviera were shattered when Fifi ran away to San Francisco with a pacific loon.
