Be you five or be you fifty, no one ever forgets their first love. Whether charmed as a child by freckles spattered like stars in a gap-toothed face or seduced by a sexy smile when you think, in despair, that the delirious rush of love has passed you by, the person who first captures your heart lives on, engraved in emotions memory. A lucky few, connecting at just the right time in just the right place, forge that love into a lifetime together. Most of us, though, move on, deliberately or not, to other lives, other loves. But whether in conscious recollection or in the odd stray dream, that first love lives to spark a smile or a sigh upon remembrance. 2013 RC deWinter
