Artist Statement "I live of phases, I like to experiment with different styles of photography: portraits, landscapes, street photography... But what strikes me the most is that kind of photography I would call "psychological", which compels you to think, to find into the image a deep meaning that goes beyond the simple subject represented. I try to create different sets with this purpose. I love black and white, it is the best way to enhance the contrasts and the contradictions that image brings hidden inside. And I love the shapes of the human body, their sinuosity: my latest pictures are nothing more than studies about lights and shadows, how they can collide and mingle on the skin. I think that is from these clashes that comes the hidden meaning I was talking about, the most intimate feeling that my photographs want to transmit and share."

Born in 1982 in Italy, living in Milan, Andrea Palla studied in a scientific-oriented high school and then took a degree in Telecommunications Engineering.
In parallel to his studies, he always cultivated a great passion for photography and writing.

In 2008 he created the Flickr SOS Project, a multi-platform system born with the intent to raise funds for charity thanks to the photos of Flickr members.

In 2009 he founded iMAG, an online free magazine dedicated to photography, image and art, which still gives the possibility to selected Artists to propose and share their work.

He uses autoportraiture to express feelings, photographing especially in black and white to highlight melancholy.
