Description Graveyard in Des Arc, Missouri, One of three stone markers in the Cemetery. The rest were all little white crosses or unmarked. Graveyard was primarly a resting place for civil war soldiers. There were a few locals buried there as well. This stone was obviously a local as indicated by the dates.
David Hensen, St. Louis, Missouri Member Since October 2009 Artist Statement David Hensen has been involved in photography since 1970. He has worked with a number of different formats... 35 mm, 2-1/4", 4x5 view as well as a number of video formats. He has designed and built both black and white and color darkrooms in which he processed much of his own work.
With the evolution of digital photography David has studied extensively staying abreast of the latest technologies and software programs. He works in all photographic venues but has a particular passion for Black and White Photography. He considers this to be the purest photographic art form. He is accomplished in Photoshop, Illustrator, Xara Extreme as well as a number of other design/manipulation software programs. David is a specialist in photo restoration, image colorization, and advanced photo enhancement techniques.
With his degree in Civil Engineering Technology, David's creative and artist abilities have also been demonstrated in his work as a carpenter, builder, remodeler, and woodworker. In David's 40+ years of being self-employed, he has engaged his talents in over 600 jobs in both the residential and commercial venues. As a master woodworker, David has designed and built close to 1000 pieces of custom furniture. His work has been featured and showcased in newspapers, magazines, radio and television. David's custom pieces have been in high demand throughout the country.
David's current focus is on his work in professional digital technologies. He is a professional website developer, graphic designer, digital artist, videographer, audio recordist, and digital photographer with emphasis on portraiture, glamor, landscape, and commercial imagery.
