Natasa Kostovska, Skopje Member Since April 2008 Artist Statement Natasa Kostovska
Natasa S. Kostovska was born in 1956 at Skopje (Republic of Macedonia). She got her diploma of Art Historian at the University of Skopje. As professional cartoonist, she has worked at the last twenty years. She was a Director for the cartoon in the comical and satirical review “Osten”, and Director of the World Cartoon Gallery at Skopje. Also, she is active as art – graphical editor and illustrator of the books and magazines for children and already has published a few of them. As result of many years of her working for “Osten “, she published a book with her own cartoons about political events in Macedonia.
She took part at the many domestic and international cartoon exhibitions and won a lot of awards: o Award for portrait-cartoon at Skopje (1989) (Macedonia); o Special Award o the Community of Skopje at the World Cartoon Exhibition (Macedonia); o The Second Prize at the Festival “ Golden helmet “ at Krusevac (Serbia& Montenegro); o Grand Prix at the competition “Golden Smile” at Belgrade (Serbia & Montenegro) o The Second prize at the international festival at Strumica (Macedonia) and The Third prize at the same festival ( Erotic- Carnival cartoon) o The Special prize at the “Nasreddin Hodja” Festival at Istanbul (Turkey)
She was a member of several international festivals juries: o “Golden Helmet” (Krusevac - Serbia & Montenegro) o IV International Cartoon Exhibition at Razgrad (Bulgaria) o World Cartoon Gallery at Skopje (Macedonia) o “Golden Smile” at Belgrade (Serbia & Montenegro) o “Nasreddin Hodja” at Istanbul (Turkey)
Also, she is the President of National Organization of Cartoon Rights Network for Republic of Macedonia.
