With breathtaking speed, China is changing. Old cities are demolished, old habits lose their value, old ideas are forgotten. At least, that seems so to hurried foreign visitors, impressed as they are by the sprawling cities in Eastern China. But the old China still exists for whom takes time and has eyes to see. My photographic lens has discovered images of China the Eternal that are more characteristic than New China’s skyscrapers and shopping malls, which could have been everywhere.
