The original versions of these prints are in the public domain. Tears have been repaired, stains removed, "missing" pieces or colors replaced, and borders or other accents added to fit the print to today's standard dimensions. In the 1800s and early 1900s, the creation of ornate and colorful images -- something we take for granted in our now hi-tech world -- took an immense amount of work to accomplish. They deserve to be freed from archives and shared.
