There are times when a simple, solitary object--be it a flower, a bird, a feather, or a sunset can give us a flash of tranquility and awe. Everything pauses for a moment and our focus shifts from the ordinary, the mundane, the busy and frantic to a small catch of breath and a deep sense of wonderment at the Reality of the world we live in. Maybe we call them "God" moments or maybe "Zen" moments or "transcendental" moments. Whatever we choose to call them, they are--to me--moments when the universe, with simple elegance, reminds us of our place and that we do have a place in it.
