Digital Aerial Pin-Hole Photographs: Diversions into Aerial Digital Pin-Hole Photography -- where ancient art meets a modern medium. It is believed that the first aerial photograph (taken from a hot air balloon in about 1859) was a pin-hole photo. In this gallery we re-initiate man's initial leap into aerial imaging with a modern twist on the original technique. Also keep in mind that pin-hole photos are "soft" and tend to lack "detail". Like an impressionistic painting, they are best viewed from a distance (better yet, try a variety of distances and angles). These images were particularly challenging to take due to the longer exposure time needed for pin-hole images. Long exposures do not mix well with a turbulent flight, and a speeding plane. Small prints of pinhole images are best viewed from at least 6 ft. away or more, while larger prints of pinhole images are best viewed from at least 12 ft. away or more. (Available as "Museum-Quality" prints here at ImageKind)
